Thanks to the Zillertalbahn, Mayrhofen can be easily reached by train from Jenbach. Buses run between Mayrhofen and Finkenberg or Ginzling.
The next stop to the Gamshütten access routes is in Finkenberg at the "Teufelsbrücke" and in Ginzling the "Gamsgrube".
Either via the Inntal autobahn A12 to the Wiesling exit or via the Achensee into the Zillertal, then federal road 169 to Mayrhofen (30 km).
Then continue in the direction of Tuxertal to Finkenberg (3 km).
Or at the Tuxertal turn-off straight ahead to Ginzling (direction Schlegeis).
Parking is available directly in Finkenberg at the Finkenberger Almbahnen parking deck and above the tennis court. To get there, you have to turn left about 200 m after the Finkenberger Almbahnen (below the Spar) to the Teufelsbrücke (a few hundred meters) and then turn right. Now follow the road until you reach the parking lot above the tennis court.
There is another parking option if you follow the road after the tennis court in the direction of Gasthof Brunnhaus. Turn left about 300 m before the restaurant (yellow hiking sign to the Gamshütte). After 200 m you come to some parking spaces in the forest just before a barrier.
If the barrier is open, please do not continue under any circumstances!
There is another possibility to park at the Rosengartenbrücke about 2 km after Finkenberg (in the direction of Lanersbach). This car park is suitable for hiking up via the Grinbergalm.
If you want to hike from Ginzling via the Georg-Herholz-Weg to the Gamshütte, you will find some parking spaces on the side of the road at the junction to the Gasthaus Gamsgrube. A better parking opportunity would be directly at the Gasthof Gamsgrube. However, these may only be used with the permission of the innkeepers and a stop after the hike is recommended...!
Additional parking is only available along the street if there is sufficient alternative space.
